ABOUT THE BOOK
In this second collection of short stories, Bins explores everything from relationships to the future with insight, panache and humor. Some stories will leave you breathless, others laughing or in tears. But be careful — most are not for children, and a few could keep you awake.
in the 2025 North Carolina Senior Literary Arts competition.
Quirky Stories is divided into sections so you can just dive in wherever you want:
Wicked Funny. Try not to snicker at this list of characters: Barbie & Ken (and Ted); Gates, Edison & Tesla; a mattress-loving princess; first-time nudists; a presidential candidate from another galaxy; school kids in ice-cream cliques.
Twisted. These stories will make you think, or rethink, the world around you. Are you seeing everything, or are there things you’re avoiding? This section ends with a humorous elevator ride to hell.
Warm. Most of these tales take you on a journey. But don’t worry — you should wind up in the right place without too many bumps and bruises — and you may well laugh.
True. Truth is often stranger than fiction. These stories can be warm or twisted too, but what they have in common is that they are all true.
